With the Clock ticking...

I decided at the last minute to cancel/postpone my surgery. I want more time to think it through and also more time on the vitamins and thyroid medication.

I thank all of you for you well wishes and prayer and words of cheer. I appreciate you all. I spent alot of time today full of stress and research. My Granny and My daughter understand my inner most feelings, even when I myself don't have a clue.

Anyone sure about NovaSure?

I am overwhelmed by the recent findings from my yearly Well Woman exam. Seems I have an under-active thyroid problem that needs medication. I am also anemic (and have been for many, many years) and need to start taking Pre-natal vitamins. And last but by no means last....I am scheduled for surgery next week.

Really since there is no incision made, I will myself to believe it is only a procedure. NovaSure ablation, which is also known as endometrial ablation. My ob/gyn said you either do this or go on hormone therapy from here on out. So, I scheduled with Saint Lukes Hospital to have the procedure (which requires being put to sleep) done on March the 1st. If I sound like a big chicken...it is because I am!

My husband is really excited about all this! The Doctor informed him that I will be a new woman full of energy. I hope he is right.

I am trying to stay busy working. I have also started a new project.

Separating the Twins and giving them their own bedroom. I worried about it for a year or so, because they are very close, yet they fight alot.

I think they really dig saying "Get outta my room!" I am not finished with this project, but they slept in separate rooms for the first time last night. It made for interesting conversation this morning. Christian (who I thought would be a scaredy cat) proclaimed that this was the best nights sleep he has had in a long time...that is...until Caleb scared him this morning! Seems when Christian opened his eyes, Caleb was standing there staring at him. To which Caleb replied " I only came in your room to look at your clock. Hmm they both have clocks. Oh well maybe the bugger missed his companion.

Now I have to figure out how to divide a playstation2, a piano, a giant gumball machine, a desk, books and etc.

A mother's work is never done!

Talkin' bout My Guys!

Happy Birthday to my Sugar Pie Honey Bunny! Lordy Lordy Look Who's 40! He is a tad bit younger than me!

I always dated much older men, he was the first one younger than me and he turned out to be the last.

I thank the Lord everyday for blessing me with his love. Enough mushiness...I am starting to cry.

The top picture is of: Christian (the smallest Twin) and the Birthday Boy (my hubby) sitting in our living-room, having a tutorial on the guitars.

Christian looks a bit funny because he decided to put the horse shears to his own head...yucky...he chopped up his hairline and whacked it up something awful...thankfully it is growing back.

The next picture is the Twins in our yard, punching on their punching bag! That is Caleb in the front, I am trying to teach them to use this bag instead of each other! Yeah Right?! Wishful thinkin'

Happy Birthday Paul David :O)

Have a blessed weekend!

Reflection

I had a pretty nice weekend considering the weather was cold and dreary. My sister is doing well and even though she has gained a little weight (which I like) she looks better than I have seen her in a looonng time!

We spent Friday and Sunday together. Saturday a bunch of people went on a trail ride, I decided to stay home and watch movies and get some income tax returns finished. We watched "flight plan" with Jodie Foster, it was real good, then "Must like Dogs" with Diane Lane, unbelievably my husband is still talking about that movie. He thinks it is a perfect example of the struggles that single people incur today.

Sunday, we all met at my grannies house in Spring. My Dad had Bar-B-Que ready for us, I did not eat, my husband cooked a big spread for breakfast and it was filling. But I tried the Blueberry Cheesecake (even though I don't care for cheesecake) and it was delicious! My Dad makes some of the best homemade pies! His apple pie could win a ribbon! He took the Twin's for a spin on his Harley and tried to coax me into going for a ride. No Way!!

My sister and I had a little wrestling match out on the lawn. That lil ol' thang took me to the ground and nipped my chin with her big ol' diamond ring...my chin still hurts! We were just acting like kids!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and we did not really plan anything this year. The hubby went into work an hour early so that he could get off early. After we picked the Twins up from their piano lesson, we went into town to take care of some business and decided to beat the crowd and have a seafood dinner. We took turns reading the Sports section of the newspaper. Tried our best to explain how much 17 million dollars is...That is how much Jeff Bagwell makes per season for the Houston Astro's. The Twin's wanted to know if that was enough money to buy a four-wheeler. After we explained how many houses, trucks, ATV's that 17 million would buy, they could not sit still. As you all may know my boys dream is to be a professional baseball player when they grow up.
One day I may be asking for their autograph or sitting in my own skybox! :O)

After getting in bed last night, Caleb came in and asked if he could rub lotion on me....Paul David yanked the lotion out of his hand and said "That's my job son!" But I must say the evening turned out very nice!

I had a very nice Valentine's Day and I did not get any chocolate. I woke up yesterday to a big gift bag full of books, 3 different hair tools and some CD's, which included Neil Diamond's latest one. I prefer that anyday over calories!

Hope you all had a nice weekend and an enjoyable yesterday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

ROSES FOR ROSE

Red roses were her favorites - her name was also Rose -And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows. The year he died the roses were delivered to her door. The card said, "Be my Valentine," like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say,"I love you even more this year than last year on this day.My love for you will always grow with every passing year."She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought, "He ordered roses in advance before this day."Her loving husband did not know that he would pass away.He always liked to do things early, way before the time. Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems and placed them in a veryspecial vase,Then sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face. She would sit for hours, in her husband's favorite chair,While staring at his picture and the roses sitting there.

A year went by and it was hard to live without her mate,With loneliness and solitude that had become her fate. Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before,The doorbell rang, and there were roses sitting by her door.

She brought the roses in, and then just looked at themin shock,Then went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop. The owner answered and she asked him if he would explain,Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away more than a year ago,"The owner said. "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know,The flowers you received today were paid for in advance.Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance.

"There is a standing order that I have on file down here,And he has paid well in advance; you'll get them every year. There also is another thing that I think you should know:He wrote a special little card . . . he did this years ago.

"Then, should ever I find out that he's no longer here,That's the card that should be sent to you the following year."She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard,Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card she saw that he had written her a note. Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote. . . ."Hello, my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone,I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome.

"I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real,For if it were the other way, I know how I would feel. The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life.I loved you more than words can say. You were the perfect wife.

"You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need.I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve.I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears. That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.

"When you get these roses, think of all the happinessThat we had together, and how both of us were blessed.I have always loved you, and I know I always will. But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still.

"Please try to find happiness, while living out your days.I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways. The roses will come every year, and they will only stopWhen your door's not answered when the florist stops to knock.

"He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out.But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt To take the roses to the place where I've instructed him,And place the roses where we are, together once again."

I thought this was a lovely story to share on this day before Valentine's day! Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been meaning to post for days, but something always comes up.

Take the Superbowl for instance...I meant to get into it and watch it, but after about 30 minutes I said "Fugitaboutit". I detest commercials, so I record all my favorite shows, then I just fast forward through the commercials. But on SuperBowl day my plan was to catch all of the new ads, especially the one with P Diddy, but I missed it. I also thought I may get a chance to see my brother David on national TV. He flew to Detroit in time to catch a Kid Rock concert and to watch the Superbowl live. Oh well, I don't think I missed much!

Paul David came home from work Sunday evening walking crooked, seems he pulled something in his back. It is much better, though he is still walking funny. Thankfully, it has eased up and he is no longer waking me up during the night bellowing "Oh Jesus" or "Oh my God!"

The Twin's had back to back Basketball games and the second one was very exciting! It went into overtime and they finally called the game it was a tie! I feel for Christian he tries real hard and gives his all, but no one wants to pass the ball to the smallest kid on the team. The Doctors predict he will be about 5'9" and his twin brother Caleb will be 6'4". He may be short but he sure makes up for it in will and determination!

My sister is getting a weekend pass and will be coming Texas under the supervision of my brother. I look forward to visiting with her. She has been clean ( I like the word "free") for 30 days now. I thank the Lord above and pray that this is a new beginning and a way of life for her.
