Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll !!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving is upon us and gives us reason to reflect on all the things we are grateful for. I must say it is quite a long list. I have asked my Twins to make a list of the top ten things they are thankful for.

I am thankful that my boys have grown closer to the Lord. That they are confident enough to sing songs of praise at church. And that they were baptized this year, a decision they made on their own.

I am thankful as well for my daughter, who improves greatly with each passing year....who by the way will turn 25 on the 25th. I fondly recall her birth, the day before Thanksgiving so many years ago. Growing up I jokingly told her "If you woulda just waited one day, you coulda been a turkey!" Her favorite holiday is the less stressful Thanksgiving Day. I am thankful that I was blessed with a daughter, my only baby gurl.

Speaking of being blessed....remember my last post?? Paul-David (hubby) filled out a transfer request, had an interview and was hired for the Lake Conroe store WOO-HOO! It is close to home and a step up from Cleveland...plus change is good.

Enjoy your family, the delicious meal and have a very Happy Thanksgiving :O)

Jibber Jabber

Things are hectic here on the home front. I sure miss blogging and reading my blog buddies blogs (say that 10 times ;)

My hubby has been working over-nights now for 9 months, the standard rotation for Managers at Wally world is 6 months...today he was told (not asked) that he will have to continue overnights until February. I want to cry (Guess I have to put on my big girl panties and deal with it!) You see it is difficult for me to sleep when he is not here. Plus I rarely see him awake. He has a part time job as well, feeding horses and mowing 2 properties (which we should get a break from for a few months....this time of year).

I know stop whining....I am thankful that he has a job. Sometimes things seem unbalanced. The boys miss him as much as I do. But we stay busy with Scouts, Soccer, Piano and school.

On top of all this, my brother told the Twins that he would give them their own horse. Hmm I dunno about that. It sounds nice but do you know how much it costs to feed two horses? Nevermind the vet bills, fence mending and the tooth fairy to float their teeth. Hay is also in short supply around here! But how do I break it to them? "Ya'll ain't gettin' no horse and thats that!" ;)

My family has designated me "In Charge" of Thanksgiving Dinner. I think that gives me exclusive rights to delegating dont you? So, what are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Eight is Enough

I have been snagged/tagged by Britmum . The purpose of this tag is to list 8 things about yourself. Seems easy but.... is not. Hmm where do I begin? Let's see

1. I began driving at the age of 13 and had my first car then too.
( No I was not legal to drive....and no one gave me lessons.)
Needless to say there were many mishaps.

2. I had a severe crush on John Travolta. I remember seeing Saturday
Night Fever on a daily basis at the Theatre when it came out. I
joined his fan club and they sent an autographed picture of him.
I had numerous posters on my wall as a teenager, but he was the
only one that graced my ceiling (above my bed). *swoon*

3. About the same time as my Parents divorce, at the age of 10, I
contracted hepatitis A. It was the worst illness that I have ever had.
My best friends mother had it and somehow I became infected. I
remember my family, classmates and neighbors having to line up
for a shot that would prevent them from infection. I have my liver
checked yearly. Sometimes I wonder if this is why I tire easily.

4. There were about 10 very traumatic experiences during my
childhood. I will share one. When we arrived home from a
deer hunting trip. We found a man dead in our house. He had
broke in and used the rifle (the one my Mother decided not to use
and had left on the bed) to blow his head off. Needless to say we
never spent another night in the house. My mother would not go
back inside.

5. Some of my favorite memories of my childhood are visiting with
the elderly. My Granny and my Aunt would take us to visit
different nursing homes. And at Christmas time me, my siblings
and cousin would go to sing Christmas Carols. I think elderly
people are the smartest and most neglected group of people.

6. I was at Astroworld the day Elvis died. I called home and asked to
be picked up, I had to leave to mourn in private.

7. I left home at the age of 15. I returned at 16 and left again for good
at 17. The first time I left (at 15) I went to Las Vegas.

8. I believe that God has great things in store for me. I have always
believed in him. If not for the Lord, my Twins would not be here
today!

Anyone that has made it to the end of this list may /or may not wish to do this list of 8's. I like getting to know people, even though I must admit it is hard to share some things. Let me know if you decide to do this....so I can check it out.
And if you get the chance click on britmum's link above she is a really sweet gal in spite of her taggin' me. ;O)
