So Sick

Things are going to the wayside around here. We are sick! My Twin comes home with a rash over his entire body. His schoolmate has the shingles...so I assume the worst and take him to the Doctor. Only to find out he has Eczema. Hmm

My husband and I have a bad case of the flu. We are in and out of the bed. I feel better when I am in the bed with my vaporizer running. My poor children having to eat hot pockets every evening. My house smells like vicks and looks neglected. I believe that old sayin' "If ye ain't got your health ye ain't got nuthin"

Hope everyone is well and kickin'. I hope to be in a day or two, Lord willing.

Raindrops keep falling on my head. Thankfully the ice has disappeared, though the cold temperatures are still around. The weather is nasty and gloomy here in Conroe, TX.

I know I need to focus on something else. But...I have been stuck indoors for quite some time. I do not drive in wet or freezing conditions, it causes me overwhelming anxiety. Montgomery County is known for bad drivers, whom scare the weebie beegeebies out of me in good driving conditions, much less bad conditions. Huntsville TX the town north of me, reported 44 accidents in one day, due to icy conditions.

Hopefully things will clear up soon. Weather permitting the boys have baseball evaluations on Saturday. We are geared up for baseball, and I am very excited to begin the new season and look forward to watching the Astro's as well.

My sister is missing again. I may post about it one day, it is difficult for my family to watch her go down the path of destruction. I do not know what to do ...Except pray feverently. Drug addiction changes a person in many ways. It is terribly sad.

On a happier note my boys were picked for the Student achievement award. They are the first children to ever receive it at their school. It is given to those who exhibit not only great grades, but excellent citizenship. Students are recognized for demonstration of outstanding character and providing a positive impact on the campus. I am very proud of them. The school superintendent along with a school board member, surprised them at school with the award statue.

Have a great weekend!

Winter Blitz?

I am getting myself all worked up over this Weather that should arrive in two days. I recall the last Winter Blizzard we had back in 1997. It was terribly cold and we were without electricity for over 10 days.

You could not get a room anywhere. It was terrible. I detest cold weather, guess you could call it a side-effect of being a born and bred die-hard Texan. If it gets below 70 I am cold.

In this town if it sleets you lose power. My husband says " You just need to not worry your head about it, ya know how the media is, they blow everything out of proportion"!

I wonder how others in different States are dealing with this onslaught.
Have any of you experienced it? If so please share.

Happy New Year!

I know I have been missing in action. No time to blog or even read blogs.

You know how the holiday rush is right? I suffered for almost two weeks with the Crud. You know the non-stop persistent cough that keeps you awake. I am finally over it and after watching 20/20 last night, I agree that the weather is to blame. Alot of people are sick with this stuff.

We had a very nice Christmas this year. I thank the Lord that my Granny is still alive and well. It is the best gift of all. She had me real worried this season. She is suffering through with a case of shingles. She will be OK though.

For New Year's we built a huge bonfire and popped a lot of firecrackers. The kids love that. It was a relaxing way to bring in the New Year. My daughter worked and went home, so that gave me peace of mind as well. Just here in Montgomery County alone, they made 76 arrest on New Years morning.

Today was my Dads birthday celebration, he turned 62. He fixed up some mighty delishous BBQ Ribs and chappel hill sausage, my Granny fixed her homemade BBQ sauce and made a 3 layer German Chocolate cake YUMMY! I felt like it was my birthday!

I miss reading all of Ya'll but I will be coming around in a bit. Happy New Year Bloggie Buddies!
